Africom offers IP Based communication Solutions, which take advantage of an existing internet infrastructure.

Voice over IP (VoIP)

Voice over IP (VoIP) is a methodology and group of technologies for the delivery of voice communications and multimedia sessions over Internet Protocol (IP) networks, such as the Internet.

The solution can be deployed in two forms; either an onsite deployment or a cloud based hosted solution.

The following service are available on the IP PBX
• Voicemail services with Directory
• Call Conferencing
• Interactive Voice Response,
• Call Queuing


This deployment requires the client to purchase the complete solution of hardware and software licensing required to deliver the solution. The choice of IPPBX is dependent on the number of users on site and the functionality that is required.
With this option the client does not have to invest in Server hardware as this will be provided by Africom in the cloud. The client will take advantage of pre exiting network infrastructure (Africom can also install new network if necessary) thereby minimizing costs for initial setup. All that is needed at the customer site are IP enabled voice devices such as IP Phones, laptops, smartphones and tablets to initiate and receive the calls. The Hosted IP PBX can come in four forms, which are:

MyPBX U300

This system supports up to 300 users and 50 concurrent calls, in addition it could be used as a gateway to legacy PBX systems.

MYPBX U500

Enterprise grade solutions designed for businesses that require up to 500 users and 80 concurrent calls. It offers 16 phone ports for FXO, FXS, GSM, UMTS, ISDN BRI connectivity. Thus it couples VOIP with traditional telephone lines offering scalability, high availability, cost saving and simplified support and maintenance.
